OUR MISSION:
The run across Michigan sets out to shine a light on endurance as a catalyst for change. We aim to inspire others to push their limits and embark on challenges that are meaningful, contributing to real change. We also want to raise as much money as we can for homeless shelters in the big cities of Michigan: Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. We will be exhausting our outreach to do so. I will be running the entire length of Michigan, East to West, during the first week of March. The run will begin n March 2nd and the goal is to complete it in 3-4 days. The distance is about 210 miles.

FACT
Homelessness is always a choice or the result of laziness.
Many people become homeless due to job loss, medical crises, eviction, or housing unaffordability—factors often outside their control.
Most homeless individuals are on the streets and refuse help.
On a single night in Michigan in 2023, 8,997 people were experiencing homelessness (sheltered or unsheltered).
Homelessness only happens in large cities.
Homelessness affects urban, suburban, and rural areas. In Michigan, all 10 regions of the state reported serving homeless clients in 2023.
People who are homeless lack skills or motivation.
Many had jobs, homes, or stability before losing them. For example, Black individuals made up ~52% of Michigan’s homeless population in prior years while representing ~14% of the overall population.
Shelters are always available to everyone who needs them.
Despite services, many regions experience high demand and limited capacity — 15% of those counted were unsheltered in Michigan in 2023.
